In case you didn’t know I have spent the last seven months rocking backwards and forth late in the evenings trying desperately to get my little baby boy to sleep at 3, 4 and 5am. He is not the best sleeper in the world but it has all been worth it as in the daytime he is amazing and full of laughs and smiles. However, what about spotting other people that have not been getting enough sleep? I manage to hide it well but do they? Well to help celebrate National Sleep In Day this weekend, my digital PR team at Prohibition and I have been busy seeding a new fun campaign for one of our clients The Sleep Council. The campaign includes the launch of a new iPhone app called UrKnackered which helps people to find and report sleep dodgers. This fun little app enables you to quickly take pictures of your friends and make them look really, really tired. We have also started seeding a number of amusing videos following a group known as The Sleep Patrol. Our full news release is here and check out the video below to get a better feel for the campaign. This is just a fun little campaign to help raise awareness of the issues around a lack of sleep but I thought it was worth sharing on here as the campaign is entirely digital. We have been engaging with journalists, sleep specialists and influential online mavens to get them to think and talk about their sleep patterns. Too many of us suffer in silence and if a fun campaign like this can help get people to think about it more then I am all for it. I suffered from Insomnia when I used to work at Harvard PR in London many moons ago, so I know it can be difficult. Have you ever suffered from a lack of sleep and how did you get out of its nasty cycle because it is tough?
