I am delighted to announce that, Share This Too, the book I wrote a chapter for a while back is now available to buy.

‘Share This Too’ is a practical guide to social media, supported by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR). Based purely on pre-sales figures, the book has already topped the Amazon’s hot new releases in Sales and Marketing, and is also in the top 20 PR books and we are all very happy with that. I would like to personally thank the brilliant Wadds for inviting me to write something for this book it was a pleasure albeit slightly scary once I agreed.

The 33-chapter handbook is packed with tips and guidance from PR, social media and digital marketing experts, and is  going to be extremely useful for anyone looking to professionally manage their online communications presence. It evaluates what is current in the theory, delivery and evaluation of 21st century public relations and organisational communication. The last book was so good I always ask my interns or new recruits to read it before working with us because it gives a good grounding in digital and online public relations.

My chapter on ‘Crisis Management’ (which could have been 20,000 words – don’t ask) includes practical guidance on how to effectively manage online communications in an unforeseen crisis, and best practice for various scenarios. I wish I could have added more case studies and great practical examples but I was tied with a word count. If I ever get the chance to write a full book I think it will be on Online Crisis Management and the experiences I have had and the advice I can pass on. Every year new channels come out but the basics stay the same. I wrote the chapter because I didn’t feel there was anything really useful and practical out there that helps PR people when it comes to a crisis breaking through digital media. I have had some great feedback on it but I am genially interested to hear what you guys think of the book after all you guys are the experts.

Today we officially launched the book in sunny and slightly windy Yorkshire, outside of Leeds Metropolitan University, where I work as a part-time lecturer as do my friends in this shot. I know we look like a man band from the 1970s getting back together but these two guys really know their stuff and it was great to work with them again on this brilliant project.
